Not much help, I'm afraid Sandra. I, too, can not find Mary in the 1871 census, although I have tried a number of variations. What I can tell you, however, is that Mary is not with son Thomas in Royston in 1871. He is on RG10/1360, folio 101, page 23, Schedule 112, Warren with wife Eliza and six children.
