Patti, for sure, confirmed by two second cousins who actually either saw them making ropes or was told first hand that this is what the did to make ends meet during the depression, both my own grandmother and her sister-in law. Not so sure about the nooses bit however, it might have been a bit humour on her part! This was 30 years after the last census of 1901.
