Valerie, I'm just curious, would the old Thundridge church you are referring to be the old ruined one out in the fields near Thundridge? Or the one in town? Lastly, don't forget that Wadesmill was split along the River Rib into two parishes - Standon and Thundridge. I have experience of entries in either, or both! Often, for convenience, the Wadesmill inhabitants walked the short distance to the old Thundridge church, a lot closer than the Standon one. It seems this was accepted by both vicars!
