All but one of those IGI listings that you sent are the children of Alfred & Elizabeth are of my family. The above William George would seem a perfect match for my great grandfather ... but I had someone pull that actual record and found that the mother was not named Elizabeth, in spite of the IGI index referal. I suppose I should order the film from LDS and look myself ... but I am always on the road (work related) and just have not found the time. I'm curious why you think an 1861 census would be of help in deterrmining a maiden name fpr Elizabeth _____ George?
It might give a location for ELIZABETH's BIRTHPLACE and non recorded Siblings; possibly an idea for a date for the marriage. . That could prove helpful - I am trying to go through 1851 Census at the moment to see if that is helpful but there are a lot of records for Hemel Hempstead and a few GEORGES.
