Robert Boome born about 1733, died 1807 and left a will dated 1808. The will states that he left some copyhold property to his son Henry. Henry died in 1838 and also left a will, which states that the copyhold property left to him by his father Robert was of the Manor of what looks like Shaftsbury. Where can I find out what Manors controlled the land in London Colney? Could it have been Shaftsbury? Then, me next question is where can I access the Manorial records please? Many thanks for your help. Carolyn in NZ
Hi Carolyn HALS has quite a number of manorial records. As a first step I suggest you email them and ask them 1 What they think the will says 2 Whether they have any manorial rolls for that manor. If you get stuck email me off list and I will look next time I go to HALS Regards Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: "carogene" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 29, 2008 4:39 AM Subject: [HRT] BOOME - Copyhold property > Robert Boome born about 1733, died 1807 and left a will dated 1808. > The will states that he left some copyhold property to his son Henry. > Henry died in 1838 and also left a will, which states that the copyhold > property left to him by his father Robert was of the Manor of what looks > like Shaftsbury. > Where can I find out what Manors controlled the land in London Colney? > Could it have been Shaftsbury? > Then, me next question is where can I access the Manorial records please? > Many thanks for your help. > Carolyn in NZ > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without > the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
