Most census years she lists her birth place as "Chipping, near Buntingford". In the 1841 census she is living with her husband (Joseph HALE b c1812, High Beech, Essex) in Roydon, Essex . A few households away there's Joseph SNELL (55, born in Essex) and Susan SNELL (60, not born in Essex). I suspect these are her parents but don't want to jump to conclusions! Also living with them are two males who I expect are Susannah's brothers - one name is illegible (30, born in Essex) and the other is Joseph (25, not born in Essex). I'd also love to have marriage info for Susannah and Joseph Hale. They don't show up in Essex records so perhaps they were married in Herts. Any assistance gratefully received.
