Can anyone help me tracing a John BUTTERFIELD who was born 1790,Nettledon and married a Rachel CRAWLEY 1822 , North Church,DOB unknown. her parents Thomas CRAWLEY and Martha DEAN all details on them and their siblings are all unknown if anyone can help.I would appreciate any help. thanks and regards Josie
Josie, According to Hugh Wallis's IGI site (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyHertford.htm#G), Rachel CRAWLEY was baptised 10 June 1804 at Great Gaddesden and Nettleden, father Thomas mother Martha. Various other siblings are shown as is the baptism of father Thomas. These are extracted submissions from the parish registers and therefore are more likely to be correct although obviously transcription errors could have been made. There is the member submitted record of a marriage on 14 February 1781 at Great Gaddesden of a Thomas CRAWLEY and a Martha DEAN on the IGI but as it is not an extracted record it is less likely to be correct. There are also baptismal records at Great Gaddesden of John BUTTERFIELD and his siblings on Hugh Wallis's site.
