    3. > Dear Listers I sent the following to the list in the format that I copied from the website. It did not transfer well and so I have reformatted below to provide more easily understood information for list members. The website for the Victoria BDM is http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/home I have been told that all states in Australia do not have the amount of detail on line that Victoria has - however, simply searching by the internet - name of state, BDM Australia. Another site that lists sites of interest is: http://www.joymurrin.com.au/LINKSaustralia.htm Regards Libby > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 8 > Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2008 09:26:37 -1100 > From: Elizabeth McMillan <[email protected]> > Subject: [HRT] Victoria Australia BDM info from Website > To: [email protected] > Message-ID: <[email protected]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed; delsp=yes > > Current Certificates > Apply online for these certificates only: > your own birth, change of name or marriage certificate the birth or > change of name certificate(s) of your children (if aged > under 18 years) > your single status certificate (no record of marriage) > a death certificate (1986 to current). > Download an application form for these certificates: > * births (1925 to current and pre 1925 if needed for a passport, > * pension, Consulate, or other legal requirement) > * changes of name (1904 to current) > * marriages (1943 to current) > * deaths (1986 to current) > * single status (no record marriage). > You can also download an application form to apply for certificates > older than the periods described above, or, you can go to the next > section and purchase images and certificates of older family history > records online. > > Family History > Historical Index Searches > > Images and Certificates Obtain historical certificates as > uncertified images or certified certificates: > * births (1853 to 1907) > * marriages (1853 to 1942) > * deaths (1853 to 1985) > * Church baptisms, marriages and burials 1836 to 1853 > * Births, Deaths and Marriages on board ships coming to Victoria > from 1853 to 1920, including ship's names.
