I am trying to locate my G.Grandfathers birth, according to the census returns he says he was born in Hertfordshire. I have searched the BDMs and no trace, his name was James Alfred Lovejoy born somewhere around 1838-1840. Another thing is I can not find a marriage for him and his wife Eliza Brockwell, this event would have happened somewhere around 1865 + or - a few years. My hope is that someone might be visiting HALS and might have a quick look at the parish records for a birth date. Or can anyone give me any ideas how to move on. Hi, in the 1871 it does look as if they might only have been married for a few years , their dau Elizabeth is 2 yrs old and they have Eliza Brockwell`s sister Jane living with them ......what is slightly odd is that they have moved from Kingston Surrey to Sheering in Essex ...... Eliza is in the 1861 born Kingston , living Kingston with her parents William and Hesiah both from Reading Berks . I only wonder now if he was married as Alfred James , there is an Eliza Brockwell married in the Mile End district , in June 1/4 of 1863 but I didn`t find a matching James Lovejoy ..........there were 6 James Lovejoys married between 1862 and 1869 but none with a matching Brockwell as far as I can see !! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2008 10:18 PM Subject: [HRT] (no subject) >I am trying to locate my G.Grandfathers birth, according to the census >returns he says he was born in Hertfordshire.
