Hi Barbara, Looking at the 1871 Census, your James Lovejoy was 34 and was therefore born 1836-1837, probably before General Registration began 1 Jul 1837. He states he was born in Watford, so you should look at the parish registers for Watford for his baptism, bearing in mind he could have been baptised at any time after his birth (eg not just an infant) Are you sure the name of the wife is Brockwell? The wife's sister, resident with them in 1871, could easily be Brookwell.
