Is anyone else having trouble on ancestry.co.uk? Every time I try to access a census image I get a flashing screen telling me to upgrade to enhanced viewer (which I had done ages ago and was working well only half an hour ago) and am unable to get to the census image. Hi List, On the subject of burials at St Helens, in January 2008, Jan from Ontario,Canada was seeking to find the burial place of her great-grandfather, Earnest John Palfrey at this location. My wife and I carried out a preliminary search of about a 1/3rd of this quite large area without success. Subsequent emails to Jan on this subject have gone unanswered. Jan, if you see this, please get in touch again if you are still looking. John. St Albans. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elaine Saunders" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, April 28, 2008 2:35 PM Subject: [HRT] Wheathampstead, St Helens > I've just posted a partial list of memorial inscriptions for St Helen's > church, Wheathampstead, Herts, UK which might be of help to someone > researching this area. RE: Ernest John Palfery of St Albans, Herts., buried in St Helen's. Hi John, your last email to me is dated March 25, 2008 (in regards to The Elephant & Castle Inn at Wheathampstead) and contained the following: (edited to maintain appropriateness for the list) Hi Jan Not sure whether I thanked you for your last attaching pictures of the inn. Would have taken more pix, if we'd remembered the camera, if you had not already excellent photos and we had not had so much to eat. Another time perhaps. Grave (sorry) doubts were expressed there about the chances of success at St Helens. But as soon as the weather really warms up, we will be back to church on our hands and knees! John. ********* I'm sorry, John but that was the last email that I received from you. I was waiting patiently for an update. Sorry John.
