Hello List Just an update on my Edwards line. My cousin and I have located our Samuel Edwards born in Northaw in Feb 1787 to Thomas Edwards and his wife Elizabeth. No maiden name was given and the only other birth was an Elizabeth Edwards in 1801 with father's name given as Thomas. No mother's name. After seeing the posting about the Herts Marriage list I did a search for marriages of a Thomas Edwards with wife's name Elizabeth. The best hit I could find was Thomas Edwards to Elizabeth Plant in South Mimms on Oct 28, 1788 almost two years after the birth of Samuel so possible but probably not likely. Based on the Militia lists for Northaw and North Mimms there was a Thomas Edwards in Northaw in 1758. this would have given him an approximate birth year of 1740. The IGI has the above Thomas and Elizabeth Edwards, but no other information. However, one entry has their birth years as 1762 and 1766. If there are any list members researching Edwards or Plant in the area of South Mimms (Middlesex/Herts) I'd love to hear from you. Terry Edwards
