Hi Kath If you do a parent search on IGI for John East spouse Elizabeth it brings up 6 children born either in Guilden Morden or Steeple Morden although there is no James but it looks as though this is where they lived. Cannot find anything for James in Hertfordshire. Have you found James death in Tasmania or anywhere in Australia. If after 1853 his death certificate will give his parents names including his mothers maiden name.
