Hi We are trying to find out when our family came to England. We keep coming back to to Hertfordshire. They said they came from Flanders to Hertfordshire and then moved into kent . Is there any way we can prove this. Our family name has bee changed over time from Lambkin Lampkin ad lamkin lampkyne Lampking and so on. The early name are John- William- Thomas- Joseph James. We did find some Lambkin in Kent who came From hertfordshire but have no way to prove anything yet. Is there a web site on line or any help would be great and Thank you Linda and cousin In canada
Hi Linda, What dates are we talking about?? Looking on the HALS Online Database (www.hertsdirect.org/ufs/ufsmain?esessionid=16574285A656FAFF7E6F91FF93BC3384_1), there are LAMBKIN/LAMPKIN marriages on there from the late 1700's onwards but most of them seem to be centred around Standon. Do you have any census records? Ancestry hold Immigration records but without knowing the approximate dates you are interested in, it is difficult to help in any detail.
