    3. HALS has a slightly different date for the first marriage (15 May 1823) so perhaps your date is for the Banns. For the earlier marriage their transcriptions are Aylen and Laurence. No doubt you have checked the 1841 and 1851 censuses showing Thomas as an inn keeper. The text of "Great Amwell Past and Present" on the internet records gravestones of earlier Aylins (including another John and Sarah). A2A lists three documents at HALS pertinent to the Aylins of Great Amwell. IGI also has Thomas parents as John Aylin or Aylen and Sarah Lawrence who were married in Great Amwell 13 Jan 1794. Always assuming I have the right links as there are many people with the same surnames in the area. All information on Sarah Allen and Sarah Lawrence parents much appreciated as well as more on the Aylin dynasty Thanks Rick Smith Austwick North Yorkshire Hertfordshire Surnames List http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~hughw/hertford.html ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ENG-HERTFORDSHIRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
