Hi, in the 1901 census my great grandfather Ambrose Rogers was living in the house next to the Millwright Arms, Barley Croft End. Does anybody know if this pub still exists or if there is a photo of it anywhere, what road it was in. I have tried Googling it but no success. Thanks. Jan Tidiman
Jan... I think I've found it. It's on the SW side of the junction of The Street and Violets Lane, Barleycroft End (no space between "barley" and "croft") and it's now known as The Brewery Tap <www.brewerytap.biz/> You can get a satellite view of Barleycroft End at http://maps.google.com/ or a photo and close-up from the pub website. Googling Barleycroft End, will keep you out of mischief for quite a while.
