The 1851 census has a Sarah Inman, born circa 1814, house servant, married but husband not present, born Datchworth, Herts. She is one of a number of servants and workers in what appears to be a large household headed by a Thomas Titmuss, farmer of 330 acres employing 12 labourers, at Digswell Lodge Farm, Digswell. Sarah was still there in 1861 as the housekeeper but now described as unmarried.
