Useful input on India. On the face of it not so surprising since the 96th were in India from 1849 to 1854. A date smack in the middle suggests a visit to family in Oz. Clearly their joint children stayed with them as we now have all three accounted for in the UK. Not sure about Emily but did she not marry a soldier and return to the UK? (By the way a Bush was a witness at one of the London weddings, cannot remember which). Maybe Emily was still in Oz as there were kids born in Western Australia, but then they would have sailed from Perth. Sorry to be so circumspect but I am sounding out the possibility they went back to visit Edwina and/or Edwin Arthur and/or Frederick. And yes the original enquiry , long past, was about the origins of Eliza Ann Lucas dau of Henry Lucas and Charlotte double barrelled whose name I have forgotten, and we have simply established that she was dead in 1843 , leaving these four children , one of whom Emily we know survived , but what happened to Edwina b Cheshunt 1819 , and the two boys chr in 1832 Edwin Arthur and Frederick ? Is anyone going into the HALS office ? and could they check the burials of Cheshunt 1819-1843. life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Simon Harding" <simon@greynose.net> To: <eng-hertfordshire@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 11, 2010 11:38 PM Subject: Re: [HRT] Baptismal look up please, Griffiths > Capt.
