Good morning, I have just received a birth certificate from GRO. for a birth 12 May 1838 in Ware.. The registration district at the top is given as Ware Union and the informant, 10 days later, is described as 'inmate' but is not the childs mother or father or to my knowledge related. Would this mean the child was born in Ware workhouse? Thanks for your time. Josi.
