    3. Hello Listers, I have the above two people as witnesses on the Marriage Register entry of my great great grandparents John and Susan ABSOLON (nee STONE) who married in St Mary's Rickmansworth on 26 September, 1821. If anyone is familiar with St Mary's Rickmansworth parish marriage registers, I would be pleased to know if these two happened to be people who conveniently witnessed many marriages in the local parish church, or that they are likely to be friends or family of the couple? I am at a loss to try and find parents for John ABSOLON who according to later census' was born in Wallingford (as many ABSOLONs were). John was a Baker by trade, and I believe that Susan/nah was a Rickmansworth girl. Many thanks for any help. 3. Hi, John Absolon in the 1861 census is as you say a baker and born Wallingford , Berkshire , not Herts , so I wonder if you perhaps check with the Berkshire list or Berks RO catalogue .......familysearch.org has a number of John Absolom and Absolon chr between 1799 and 1801 but I don`t know the geography of Berks well enough to know if any of these are close to Wallingford, but you could ask Berks RO for a search in the bapts for Wallingford between 1795 and 1805 which may give you a starting point . life is hard . soften it with a cat \\\=^..^=/// ----- Original Message ----- From: "Estelle Daniels" <stelly__57@hotmail.com> To: "Hertfordshire List" <eng-hertfordshire-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2010 5:18 AM Subject: [HRT] BROWN & YEOMAN 1821 Marriage witnesses > > Hello Listers, > I have the above two people as witnesses on the Marriage Register entry of > my great great grandparents John and Susan ABSOLON (nee STONE) who married > in St Mary's Rickmansworth on 26 September, 1821. > > If anyone is familiar with St Mary's Rickmansworth parish marriage > registers, I would be pleased to know if these two happened to be people > who conveniently witnessed many marriages in the local parish church, or > that they are likely to be friends or family of the couple? > > I am at a loss to try and find parents for John ABSOLON who according to > later census' was born in Wallingford (as many ABSOLONs were).
