Apologies to the list. I was clearing out my inbox and managed to post two old replies on village policing by mistake. Sorry. Elaine Saunders

In those days you absolutely knew where everything was and could put your foot on it and take care of it without any probs. These days with computers you never know (especially if you are over 50) what you might accidentally send out to whoever you do not know, have never met, or have yet to meet, or might never meet. Computers were designed to embarrass us, no doubt about it - they show up all our foils, our inadequacies and our inconsistencies. Computers take over. Computers make you look silly when you really meant to be serious and even when you're serious they still make you look comic. Never mind Elaine, one day a computer just might be designed to stop us from making ourselves silly, but between you and me pigs might fly. In the meanwhile simply enjoy.
