    1. Re: [HRT] Looking for John and/or William IVES
    2. Thelma Wigley
    3. Hello Joan I've looked right through the 1851 census for the town of Hertford but could only find a George Ives, aged 36, born in Stanstead, Hertfordshire. So I then looked through Stanstead and found a James Ives, 22, born in Broxbourne, Herts, with wife/children, Joseph Ives, 36, born Stanstead, again wife/children, a John Ives aged 25 but born in Quandon(?) Essex, with wife Mary 24, born Stanstead, no children, and a Benjamin Ives aged 32 unmarried, living as a lodger. If you'd like all the details I can send them. Sorry not to have been able to come up with anything more definite. 1. RESEARCHER NEEDED
    2. Gail Riddell
    3. Hi List, I was wondering whether anyone knew of a reasonably priced researcher to do some research on my Robert Maslin family of Shenley/ London Colney. I don`t have anything on Robert and as he wasn`t born in Hertfordshire, is it at all possible to find out where he came from. The IGI says probably Wiltshire but that is probably a guess. Also what am I likely to find out. He married early 1800`s. Thankyou, Gail in Australia

    3. Thanks for your reply Donald, actually he was married shortly before the end of WW1 in Edmonton, as he was wounded and had only one leg. According to his sole surviving son, his parents took up the position at the fledgling telephone exchange near Pauls Lane in Hoddesdon, but he (my uncle) remained in Edmonton and was brought up by his grandparents. In 1928 my mother was born and that was at an address in the High Street, Hoddesdon. Grandad probably didn't have his own telephone, but the exchange itself and just maybe his name was listed in the street directory between 1918 and 1928. cheers Bob in Brisbane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donald Massey" <donaldmasseyuk@yahoo.com> To: <ENG-HERTFORDSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 20, 2005 2:21 AM Subject: Re: [HRT] where was grandad 1918-1928?
