    1. UKBMD Survey
    2. Sandra J Smith
    3. Hi lists, First apologies if you receive this more than once. UKBMD are conducting a survey about the possibility of placing actual Birth, Marriage and Death certificates on line. I thought some of you may be interested in completing the survey. The link to the site is at the bottom of this email. Sandra Dear all, UKBMD has been asked to seek the opinions of its users. There's a survey linked from the home page which I hope you will take the time to answer. If you could see birth, marriage and deaths certificates on-line, would you prefer to see the original register entries held by the local register offices, or the secondary copy held by the GRO? Don't answer here -- please fill in the survey. Please cross-post this to any other list that you believe to be relevant. -- regards, Ian Hartas -------------------------------- UK-BMD : http://www.UKBMD.org.uk Subscribe to the GEN-UKBMD list.

    3. Hi Mike Thanks for looking. I thought the 1851 was indexed so sorry for asking the impossible. When I was in HALS last year on a visit I found some indexed lists for the 1851 in Ware and was able to locate my PAGE lot in it. But that must have been a one off transcription by someone/ Once more apologies. 3. Yvonne.... > I wonder if anyone with the 1851 census for Ware could check and see if > Alfred FLACK born 1834 in Ware is still living in the town or anywhere > else in Herts for that matter !!! The 1851 census for Herts is for the most part neither transcribed or indexed so a county-wide search is rather a long job. I did however do a rapid scan through the eight films for the town of Ware (some of them barely readable!) but found no sign of him. That doesn't mean he wasn't there, just that I didn't spot him. You can buy the complete scanned census for Herts (4 CDs) - and many other counties - from www.mycensus.com Mike
