Hi Linda Cant wait to receive any info u have. My great grandparents were John George LITTLEFORD and Mary Ann ENDERSBY. They married at Gt. Munden in Hertfordshire. Pam UK
Hi I am also a direct descendant of ENDERSBY. Can u send me any details u may have. Pam UK
Hello Sarah, Yes we did correspond a year or so ago, if I remember correctly you were in the middle of important exams:) I thought I had the right one until a lass pointed out the Lydia marriage to John. And as John is on the marriage cert if George I agreed I may be wrong, and went off on another line. Did you fine any George John or John George while you were at the Archives? I am now getting even more confused, why oh why did George have a very popular name :) Jill I am now completely confused as to who George's parents are. You have me wondering now if George's parents maybe were not Thomas and Hannah Cutmore... They fit well as his parents and I have seen other people get their father's name wrong on their marriage certificate, especially if he died when the person was still a child. I'm including all the notes I took while in the archives. In 1841, the first 4 people I have listed in Wadesmill were all living either right next to one another or just a few houses away. I believe that the George shown there is ours given that his future in-law and future marriage certificate witness are right next to him! There certainly were a lot of Cutmore's and a lot with the same name... Thomas, Sarah, etc. Do you have any more info on the John and Lydia Cutmore you have found? Thanks, Sarah
Valerie, I'm just curious, would the old Thundridge church you are referring to be the old ruined one out in the fields near Thundridge? Or the one in town? Jill & Geoffrey: I have the same George Cutmore (Jill I think we've shared info before, your Henry being brother with my Frederick) born in 1821 in Hunsdon to Thomas and Hannah. I was in the Hertfordshire archives last year and searched and searched for him and this seemed to be the best fit. I have some notes that I made on Cutmore's in Thundridge/Wadesmill (there are a lot of them!) and I'll look for them this weekend. Thomas and Hannah were married Nov. 5, 1818 in Widford, Herts. Sarah In a message dated 17/08/2005 10:40:30 GMT Standard Time, jilljackson@optusnet.com.au writes: I am having trouble identify my Great grandfather George CUTMORE. He was born either 1815, 1821 or 1832 in Thundridge, Hertfordshire. I know he married Margaret PALLETT in 1855, on the marriage certificate it lists George's father as John PALLETT. No mother mentioned. On the Census:- 1861 age 41 1871 age 50 1881 age 59 1891 age 72 He did not seem to know his correct age, understandable in those days if you could not read or write. Regardless of the above, I do have a problem in identifying his parents, particularly his mother who was either Ann or Lidia. Any suggestions from any one to help me solve this problem. I have him as being born at Hunsdon in 1821, son of Thomas CUTMORE and Hannah BROWN. Moreover, I have you as my cousin - through the PALLETTs!!! Yours, etc. Geoffrey Woollard in Cambridgeshire. --------------------------------- Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page
