    3. Thanks to Barbara and Frances for your responses. It seems that several people have previously reported this to ancestry, although they told me to try Standon instead of Sandon ! Apparently books 1-11 of HO101/446 are available, but books 12-16 are missing, covering Rushden, Sandon, Therfield, Wallington and Yardley. The images are available elsewhere. I will get back to ancestry.                 Kevin.

    3. Kevin, I reported this to Ancestry last August 8. Some of the places are there but several like Sandon, which I'm also interested in are missing. They did admit that they were, but they couldn't say how long they are going to take to get it on, but they seem to be more interested in getting additional data on, without sorting out the missing pieces of info. It apparently has to go to a different section to sort it out. My feet are going to take a walk onto another site when my subscription comes up for renewal, as there are others more interested in the customer. As for the census piece all I know is that it is HO/107/446 I didn't note the additional info when I visited the FRC. 3. Francis Armstrong Nugent was the father of Francis Hall Nugent who was born at Greenhithe Kent . Francis Armstrong Nugent's first wife, the mother of Francis Hall Nugent was Emily Ann Hall, born at Deptford in 1809. She died in1839. Francis Armstrong nugent then married his sister in law Sussanah Jane Hall. Their children were James Hall Nugent, Arthur George Nugent and Sussanah Frances Nugent. When Francis Hall Nugent came to Ausrralia in 1852 he went to search his fortune on the gold fields where he met Ann Field born at Bathurst in1844. Susannah Jane Nugent ne Hall ran a ladies school at their home Earlswood House in Hamilton Tce. Greenwich in 1851. Francis Hall Nugent went to School at the old Greyfriars School in London, near Greyfriars Church and St. Pauls. Greyfriars School was a blue coat school or charity school. These people are my ancestors. If you require any more information I should be most willing to help. Coincidentally my aunts always said that it had been Emily Ann Nugent ne Hall who had been killed in a carriage accident.

    2. Sandra J Smith
    3. Hello list, Is there some kind person who visits the Hertfordshire Archives (HALS) who would be willing to check a single entry for me in a parish register. The entry is a baptism in the parish of BARLEY on 28 Oct 1582. The IGI has this as Andrie FOSCETT, daughter of Richard I would like to be sure that this is a daughter and not a son Andrew. I would be extremely grateful for any help. Kind regards Sandra

The IGI shows a marriage of a Margaret WHITMORE to a John HOWE in 1584 at Hatfield Bread Oak, Essex. There are also references to an Abraham HOWE born about 1576 in Hatfield Essex. and his marriage in 1597 also Hatfield. I think Hatfield Bread Oak should have read Hatfield Broad Oak as there is a Parish of this name (or Hatfield Regis) in Essex. You will find the site http://www.historyhouse.co.uk/essexh06.html both interesting and helpful regarding records of this place. Maggie.

Patti > I am afraid I agree completely with Patti! Messages all in caps are most definitely NOT easier to read, any more than are messages written all in lower case, sometimes without a hint of punctuation. Both are irritatingly difficult to read and, in fact, I usually don't bother to read such messages. The only case for using all capital letters is to highlight a name or surname. I may be thought old-fashioned but what is wrong with posting messages in simple, plain English, which means with caps where appropriate - i.e. at the beginning of a sentence, where used for a proper noun or, as I have indicated, to highlight a name - and also with correct spelling and punctuation? It really isn't difficult if one takes a little trouble. Moreover, a query phrased in good English is far more likely to get attention and a satisfactory response than one which is clumsily written and indicates the poster is only semi-literate. -- Roy Stockdill Professional genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
