    3. I read that the 19th Century Newspapers site was probably irregular and should not have become general knowledge! > The academic institution concerned is now inviting applications from > educational and academic institutions to register with them for > access. Public access was to be prohibited. > However the Admin of another Rootsweb List has said that there is now a free trial being offered on the site at present. Go to - http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/ and register. If you put "None" in the 'Institution' fields it works. I have found fewer hits per search than previously but there is still probably a mine of information there. Maggie.

    3. Hi Gloria This site is very easy it takes you to a basic search screen. As both your names are reasonably unusual I would just type in Codicote and see what it brings. I found heaps on some areas of my family, simply by typing in the surname. However I noted only some papers seem to come up as being searchable. I would love it if someone can advise differently. 3. Gay, Thank you for your suggestions. I have the 1891 census entry tat you show below and I have for some time thought this was the same family but no real proof as I can't find details of Fred FAULKNER to cross check his parentage. They are living in the right area I think. The 1901 entry you quote is certainly the right family. This is the frustration - I can't find the right William FAULKNERs further back. Such a common name unfortunately! I had hoped that the more unfamiliar name of VIPERS would get me better results but so far no luck.
