Ian, I have one reference to PREECE in my research, an Anne PREECE married James PORTMAN (as yet unconnected to me but I'm still looking) on 23 Apr 1735 in <?>, Hereford. They had a son Philip PORTMAN who was christened on 18 Feb 1735 at Bromyard, Hereford. This is close to Whitbourne and Tedstone Delamare where my ancestors were in the 1800s. This information was gleaned from IGI so I still have to confirm it. Stephen, My first online relative :-) Ann WOODYAT and Joseph PORTMAN were my GreatGreatGrandparents. I didn't know about Alfred Harford PORTMAN's family so you've expanded my knowledge already.
