Hi Listers, I wonder if anyone can help me with my Jones family as there appear to be a number of people researching various Jones's. maybe someone has come across my family. WILLIAM JONES was born c 1828/8 in Marden or Yarkhill, son of WILLIAM and ELLEN JONES ( no baptism found c 1828/9). He married MARY CATHERINE HANCON on 7 Sep 1854 at All Saints, Hereford. William is described as a coachbuilder. Their first child ANNIE JONES was born at Widemarsh Gate, Hereford and baptised on 17 June 1855 at All Saints, Hereford. Their second child SUSAN ELLEN JONES was born at Widemarsh Gate, Hereford and baptised 26 June 1857 at St John Baptist, Hereford. Thier third child WILLIAM JONES was born at Ivy Cottage, St Johns, Hereford and baptised 30 July 1856 at St John Baptist, Hereford. William Jones the father is described as a Journeyman coachbuilder and the birth was registered by an Ann Collier, occupier of Ivy Cottage and the mother's name is given as Kate Jones formerly Hancon. Between 1856 - 1869 the family disappear, probably because William moved around for his work and I would love to hear if anyone has found them on the 1861 census. William Jones would be a coach builder, Mary Catherine his wife was sometimes called Catherine Mary or Kate, and their known children were Annie born 1855, William (if he survived infancy) born 1856 and Susan Ellen born 1857 and any other children born after 1857. Mary Catherine Jones died in Cheetham, Manchester in 1869 and was brought back to All Saints, Hereford for burial. Her daughter Susan Ellen was living with her aunt Rebecca Rowe in Widemarsh Street, Hereford on the 1871 Census but I do not know what happened to William and the other children and where they were on the 1871 Census, has anyone seen them? So I would be grateful for any information about this family on the 1861 or 1871 Census. Ros Dunnico in wet and cloudy Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.
