I recently asked the list for help in tracking down a family of Powells in Aymestrey via the 1851 census and as usually the responses kicked up more questions that answers - typically! So I'm back with another plea for help. Does anyone on the list have access to Aymestrey PRs and would be prepared to do a look up for me? I am trying to trace the family of John and Mary Powell (he born 1809 in Weobley and she in Shobdon). So far I know they had two sons, John born in the early 1840s (possibly in Aymestrey), Thomas who was born around 1846 and definitely in Aymestrey (at least according to the 1871 census) and much later a daughter, Mary. There are large gaps in between births which for this family is a little unusual - they were generally prolific (2 x gt grandfather had 24!). I was wondering whether they suffered severe numbers of infant mortality (like several other branches) hence my request. MTIA Mandy in Windermere
