Dear List, I think I've made a breakthrough in tracing James and Mary Meredith, the parents of Sophia and Margaret Meredith baptized in Brilley in 1822 (also Ann in 1825). Margaret Meredith, 24, of Eardisley, dau. of James Meredith (labourer), married Richard Powis in Eardisley in 1841. Sophia Meredith was a witness. On the same page of the register but for the year 1842 is recorded the marriage of William Meredith, 27, of Lower Moor, son of James Meredith (labourer). Ann Meredith (presumably a sister) was a witness. Could this Ann Meredith be Margaret and Sophia's sister baptized in 1825 making William their brother? I believe that all were the children of the James Meredith baptized in Eardisley in 1780 the son of yet another James and Mary. I also believe that he was the James Meredith(signed) who married Mary Price (x) in Hereford in 1811. William was probably baptized in Eardisley in abut 1814 - does anyone have any records of baptisms of children born to James and Meredith when t! hey were in Eardisley?
