Hi Lizzie, Radnor covered an area starting West of Hay in HEF, extending northwards past Presteigne and Knighton and westwards past Rhayadergwy (Rhayader) so much further North and West of Monmouth. I've looked on a map from 1850 and cannot find your Clinow in either county. Try susbstituting "Llyn" for "Clin" assuming a phonetic spelling. My guess is that it will be found West of Kington, HEF where there are a few villages with a Llyn... beginning. Contact me off list if you would like the maps e-mailed to you. David M
