Hallo Vicky, Apologies if I have sent you this before. Martha EMBRY Grainger was baptised at Hereford St Owen on 20 March 1783. Her parents were John Grainger (corn miller) and Joyce, nee Hiatt/Hyatt. Although she is not a direct ancestor, I would be glad if you would let me know if you are aware of any connection between the Embry and Grainger families. Kind regards, Bert Pemberton (HFHS 1838). >From: Michael & Vicky Harding <mharding@ihug.co.nz> >To: ENG-HEREFORD-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [HEF] EMBREY >Date: Tue, 25 Feb 2003 10:24:03 +1300 > >Dear Elizabeth, >Coincidentally I have just being writing to another EMBREY researcher who >was connected through my ADDISS's so had this all at hand . >Two ADDISS's married an EMBREY > > >1871 census for Kilpeck >Middle Ridgeway dwelling >Edwin ROWBREE head Mar 33 Farmer of 97 acres employing 1 man born >Orocp in 1891 census he called himself ROWBERRY >Harriot " wife Mar 30 farmers wife > Kentchurch >Charles EMBRY servant U 21 Farm bib? > Monmouthshire Grosmont > This above entry is very very clear and no doubt as to Charles spelling >of EMBRY > >1871 Vowchurch >Catharine EMBREY head widow 70 Preston on Wye > >1871Grosmont >William EMBRY head 73 retired farmer Garway > >1871 >Garway Hill area of Orcop just to show a family of HANBURY's with the >same names as the EMBREY family. >Elizabeth HANBURY head widow 41 farmer of 15 acres little Dewchurch >John " son U 17 Kilpeck >Charles son 11 scholar Garway >Emma daur 5 scholar St Weonards >Elizabeth daur 3 St >Weonards >George son 9 months >Orcop > > >Orcop >Church dwelling >Thos EMBREE head widow 55 labourer Much dewchurch >John EMBREE son U 25 lab Much Dewchurch >Maria JAY sister Widow 61 annuitant " >Thos JAY nephew U 25 Imbecile " >Augusta JAY niece 13 " > > >looking into 1851 notes I have >Treewadoe?
