    3. Mandy / List Canterbury appears to be small area in the west of Shobdon, according to 'A History of Shobdon' by Ivor Pfuell ISBN 0-95247900-1 originally published in 1994 by Ivor Pfuell. There are several references to 'Canterbury' and one in particular to 'Canterbury Cottages' which relates to the sale of some land on 26th July 1919, four lots totalling 32 acres were sold off, one being The Warden (a field next to Canterbury Cottages) All four lots were bought by William Laver of Elm Lodge, Leominster for £850. On a personal note, my family, including my grandfather Thomas Bufton were found in the 1891 census at Canterbury cottages.
