    3. Trying to find when and where David MEREDITH was born and/or christened/baptized. He was the middle child (#5) of nine, of James MEREDITH Sr. and Elizabeth PITT. His siblings were christened/baptized on these dates, in these locations: 1. William MEREDITH, 26 May 1806, Peterchurch, Herefordshire, England. William was later believed to have lived in Hay, Breconshire and died between 1832 and 1840, leaving two children. 2. James MEREDITH, probably 17 January 1808 in Herefordshire. James married and lived in Glamorganshire before going to United States in 1849. 3. Elizabeth MEREDITH, 12 August 1810, Clodock Parish, Longtown Township, Herefordshire, England. She may have died by 1840. 4. Margaret MEREDITH, 4 September 1814, also at Clodock. She apparently died after 1840. 5. David himself (see notes that follow). 6. Henry Pitt MEREDITH, 30 October 1825 (same day as two other siblings, also at Clodock). 7. Eleanor MEREDITH, 30 October 1825 (same day as two other siblings, also at Clodock). She may have married and went to United States in 1849 with brother James. 8. Hannah MEREDITH , 30 October 1825 (same day as two other siblings, also at Clodock). 9. Thomas John MEREDITH, 7 December 1828, also at Clodock. It is believed that the James MEREDITH and Elizabeth shown at Redlay Farm, Cusop Parish, Herefordshire, England on the 1851 census are his parents. David MEREDITH is shown with them and is also there on later census records. His age on the different census records and probable death record vary somewhat, resulting in a birthdate from roughly 1816 to 1820. But it is consistent that he was born in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. It further appears that James MEREDITH (1867), Elizabeth MEREDITH (1875), Hannah MEREDITH (1876), and David MEREDITH (1881), were all buried at St. Michael's, Clyro, Radnorshire, Wales (in the years indicated). David MEREDITH apparently never married. He was mentioned by name in the wills of his maternal grandfather James PITT Sr. (written 1832, proved 1834) and his maternal uncle James PITT Jr. (written 1840, proved 1844). In BOTH wills he received a larger portion than did his siblings. Ruth Ann Baker United States
