Hi List, I've come to a standstill with one branch of my family and need the advice of more experienced researchers. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to find a baptism record for an ancestor who seems unsure of her birthplace? Sarah WATKINS nee JONES is on the 1851 Census at Eardisley and her birthplace is Marston HEF circa 1810. I haven't seen the image, but I'm told that in 1861 she is at Clifford, and her birthplace has changed to Lionshall Hampshire. She died in 1866 at Clifford. I couldn't find Lionshall Hampshire on a map, but I hope it was meant to be Lyonshall HEF - does this seem a reasonable assumption? I am certain that her maiden name was JONES as I have a birth certificate for one of her children. I haven't been able to pick an obvious baptism for Sarah from the IGI. The LDS family history library doesn't have anything for Marston in HEF (the closest place was Marston-Stannett HEF, but only memorial inscriptions), but it does have parish registers for Lyonshall HEF. I have not yet found her marriage record, but it would have been circa 1836 to Thomas Beavan WATKINS in either HEF or BRE. Any suggestions on where else to look for it (not on IGI or FreeBMD)? Would the parish registers include the fathers names? Should I try to get the marriage details first, or order the Lyonshall film and look there first? I'd be grateful for any assistance. Thanks Sandra
