    3. Hi all Can anyone advise how I can check arrivals from Ireland to England prior to 1861? GG Grandfather born Ireland 1833 - we can find in 1861 in Uk but have no record of him prior to this date and have assumed he came over from Ireland around 1860, but we are guessing. Can anyone help, please. Thanks Cyndy Hannan Queensland

    3. Hi Cyndy Going from Ireland to England in the mid-1800's was no different to travelling from Hereford to Worcester or from Brisbane to Sydney. It was all regarded as part of the same country, so no record of departures or arrivals was kept.
