It isn't a common name in Herefordshire, and I believe that I am probably related to anyone with CHADWICKs in 19th century Hereford. Hi Malcolm, My Chadwicks are from Billington, Langho region of Lancashire. 1754 is the earliest I've found and his name was Ellis Chadock. It evolved to Chaddock, then Chadwick, then Chaddwick and finally Chadwick. Chadwick is a common name in Lancashire. I ran a quick check by calling for all entries starting CHAD... to look for variants like Chadock, but there were none. The Hererfordshire Burial Index is complete from 1813 to 1839.
