I would like to find the ancestors of Mary Ann Jones (yes, I know, common name!) - details below 1841 Mary Ann, 6, living in Michaelchurch Escley with mother Elizabeth and siblings. 1851 Not found - possible a servant 1861 Mary Ann Jones living in Michaelchurch Escley, age 30, single, with daughter Elizabeth, 2 (named after her mother?) Later in 1861 she married Henry Hall in Michaelchurch Escley, father given as John Jones Farmer, Witnesses James Jones (relation?) and Mary Ann Pritchard (Innkeeper's wife, living next to Mary in the 1861 census). In 1862 they had a daughter Sarah, and in 1867 a son James. Mary seems to have died in the same year as James was born. I have tried to find Elizabeth, her daughter b 1859 and also tried to find an appropriate James Jones, and found the following - James Jones 83, b Madley, his wife Sarah 78, b Much Marcle and Elizabeth, granddaughter 12, born Tupsley, all living in Tupsley. Did Mary name her later children after this James and Sarah? Her father John cannot be found. Sorry, this is so long - you have probably given up by now. Any ideas gratefully received. Joyce Weeks
