Sophia Davies, my great grandmother, was a 4 year old in Kington workhouse with her 5/6 year old sister, Mary Ann Davies,in 1861. They were not in the workhouse in 1871 but probably in domestic service. On leaving there they both took their father's surname, Heritage. Both were born in Garnfach, Monmouthshire, not far from Brynmawr which was then in Breconshire. Can anyone please tell me the whereabouts of these girls in 1871? By 1881 Sophia was in Abergavenny, unmarried. Mary Ann was married to George Russell and living in Pershore, Worcestershire with an illegitimate daughter Elizabeth Ann Heritage, Marion Lambert born in Kington around 1868 ,and a son John Russell aged 2. Any help gratefully received.
