Now I know that the spelling of birthplace for the Caroline Meredith that married Charles Bufton is LLANWARNE, not Llwarne as on census or other misspellings. Missing the two needed letters made it impossible to find on maps. Does this have to do in part with the Welsh way of pronouncing this place name? Also in answers found that this Caroline Meredith is NOT the one I am looking for. Thanks for the suggestions of places to look for maps in addition to multi map site. Here again, one simple punctuation mark led me to the wrong place. Instead of http://www.old-maps.co.uk I went to http://www.oldmaps.co.uk and got the message below. This is why I said it was no longer available. Going to the first (and correct) one tonight, I did find LLANWARNE with no trouble.
