Subject: The search for Rose .H. Hello folks, Can someone who likes solving mysteries see if they can help to solve the following? Rosanna ( as spelt on birth cert ) LLOYD was born to parents William and Jane in Lower Sapey near Bromyard in April 1857. In 1861, the family ( less father William for some reason - I have still to find him ) is living at Highfield, Lower Sapey, but Rosanna is now clearly called Rose. H. LLOYD aged 3. In 1871, the family ( now including father William, but not mother Jane who died in 1870 ) is living at Worcester Road Kidderminster. On this occasion she is called Rosa LLOYD aged 13. I cannot find anyone on the 1881 census who might be Rosanna after trying as many variations of Rosanna and LLOYD as I can think of. William remarried , but there is no mention of Rosanna in later censuses. There are some marriages in FreeBMD that are vaguely possible, but coming from a long line of skinflints, I don't want to send for a certificate until I'm sure. The other possibliity is that she has died, but there is no evidence at all that this is the case. I was hoping that Rose H. Berry, born Bromyard may have been her, but we now know that her maiden name was Bridgwater, although it is interesting that she too was christened Rosanna and was later called Rose .H. Does any lister have a flash of inspiration that could lead me either to Rosanna's marriage or entry in the 1881 census? I guess she may have emigrated, but it seems unlikely. Colin Lloyd
