    1. Re: [HEF] Re Kenderchurch
    2. There is not very much on Kenderchurch in Mansions & Manors of Herefordshire by Rev Charles D. Robinson originally published in 1872. See http://www.churchplansonline.org/show_full_image.asp?resource_id=07134.tif for a plan of the church after restoration in 1870, http://www.a2a.org.uk/ has a few entries for Kenderchurch, mostly pre 19c though. Looking at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/HEF/Kenderchurch/index.html page on Kenderchurch and the attached page http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/HEF/Kenderchurch/History1876.html it gives the population in 1861 as 99 and 1871 as 70, i did a quick search of the HFHS 1891 census index of those people living in Kenderchurch in 1891, results of 62 people, only 18 of which were born in the parish. Thinking about the location of the church and it's lack of houses surrounding it, possibly one reason for that may be that it was the site of a now deserted medieval village. See the Sites & Monuments Records site at http://www.smr.herefordshire.gov.uk/saxon_viking/as_hrfds.htm for info on Archenfield.
