    3. Thanks to all those who replied to my Kenderchurch question. I too wondered about the tiny church high on the hill, overlooking and so close to the church of Ewyas Harold. With a small population and another church only a mile away, perhaps the curate was only part time. I found several people from Kenderchurch parish buried in Kentchurch (18th century). Does anyone know if the Kenderchurch graves have been transcribed? They do not seem to be on the Herefordshire Monumental Inscriptions site. It seems the parishioners were mainly farmers and farm labourers. My IRELAND family had headstones in Kenderchurch graveyard, even one for their six year old son when he died in 1778, so they must have had some money. They were not mentioned on land tax returns for the parish, so I concluded they were not farming. In trying to puzzle out how they lived, I wondered if they might have had an inn on the Hereford-Abergavenny road, or a haulier business. Has anyone any other suggestions, or comments? Maureen Robinson.
