Ruth, In 1841 there is a John STEPHENS living on his own in St Owns, Hereford aged 58 and with an occupation of Cabinet M(aker) not born in HEF. His sons, John and Thomas STEPHENS, worked with him in this business as upholsterers. By 1840 another cabinet maker named Francis MORRIS was in business in St Owen Street. John STEPHENS' wife was Anne, and on 20 December 1835 Thomas STEPHENS married Mary Ann WILLIAMS (born at Clyro about 1814) at St Owens, Hereford. If anyone who has access to the 1841 Census for Herefordshire could find any of these people for me I should be extremely grateful.
