I am new to this list and thought I should introduce myself. My name is Tim Doyle and I am a member of the "Whitney Research Group" - an informal group of individuals interested in the scholarly research of Whitney families around the world and throughout history. The main branch of the Whitneys originated at Whitney in Herefordshire, and I have been working quite heavily on the Whitneys of Herefordshire. Our website is at http://wiki.whitneygen.org and contains Whitney entries from parish registers, census records, PCC wills, Herefordshire wills, records from the National Archives Catalogue including Chancery documents, Star Chamber documents, etc. Also included on the website is the index to the Whitney and Clifford Manorial Records which includes mention of many people other than Whitneys. We have compiled many family groups for Whitneys of Herefordshire, which can be seen by selecting the "Whitneys of England" link on the website's main page, then selecting Herefordshire.
