    3. Hi Dawn Thanks for getting back to me and for your offer of help. My Catherine POWELL was born in Madley 1854 I saw her in the 71 census aged 17 born Madley and living with her father William(44), sister Caroline(15) and brother William(8) all born Madley.I don`t know if she`s the right one as I have been unable to find much about the catherine POWELL who was my great grandmother-only that she had my grandmother in 1874 in Lydbrook, Glos that she was a servant and that in 1884 she was recorded as being "late of Ruardean". Also I found a notice of a Catherine POWELL¬s burial in Dec. 1883 on Ancestry (Herefordshire, Monmouthshire) although I haven`t seen this anywhere else. Apologies for such a long answer but I`ve searched for years and had very little luck in tracing her . If only I`d asked my dad about his gran! best wishes Sylvia> From: dawn.cumbley@virgin.net> To: eng-hereford@rootsweb.com> Date: Sat, 9 Feb 2008 18:59:06 +0000> Subject: Re: [HEF] (no subject)> > Hi Sylvia> > 2664 appears to be Ilkeston DERBY not Madley which is 2064.> > However, I have looked for her in Madley without success. 3. Hello Sylvia Was the child called Agnes? If so, Agnes was probably christened at East Dean Methodist Church FOD. Mother Catherine POWELL domestic living Joys Green. No father's name given. Of course, it may not be the correct one but it's worth considering. Couple of questions. Did Catherine marry? When did she die approx? How do you know that in 1884 she was late of Ruardean? Obviously the daughter(Agnes or not) married?? Have you her MC? Does it give her father? Does it give her mother maybe as deceased if no father? Don't actually know if it would give that anyway. Witnesses names at the marriage?? Sometimes they can help. Just that for now, I will work on another idea. Glad to help Dawn dawn.cumbley@virgin.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "sylvia morgan" <sylviamorgan213@hotmail.com> To: <eng-hereford@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2008 8:44 AM Subject: Re: [HEF] (no subject) Hi Dawn Thanks for getting back to me and for your offer of help.
