After some absense from this site am trying to get through my "wall" My 3 x grandfather was John Waring born November 1803 Several of the census give different places of birth including Furness, Herefordshire. From my understanding there is no such place as Furness. Unless someone can suggest something different The familysearch.org site has had this name placed on it and also his alleged father married to his wife, Catherine Carver. His father has been given the name John also, which is totally unproven. My father came from Dorstone, Herefordshire. At the time John Waring was born there was a Waring family at Kinnersley, which isn't far to walk I understand, across the fields, but cannot link my grandfather x to this particular family. Could anyone kindly make any suggestions as to where I can search to find his background. He was an ag lab and wonder if he could be a nephew of the family but I keep hitting brick walls. I have even had a local researcher on the trail back in 2000/2001 but nothing. Are there any of the local church records for that area in Herefordshire record office that are not on the family search site. Any help greatly appreciated. many thanks Patricia Waring
