In August 1917 Mary Fuller wrote to her 20 yr. old son, Frederick Fuller of the 1/1st battalion of teh Hereford Regiment was a prisoner of war in Turkey but the letter was never delivered to him as he had died some months previously. Although his name is on the Shobden war memorial Frederick's next of kin were living in Tarrington during the war years and indeed up to 1933. The parents of the dead soldier were Charles F Fuller and Mary A. Fuller; he had a younger sister, Daisy who was also living in Tarrington in 1933. I think that she may have been a school teacher who never married. A historian in Turkey would like to return the letter to a family member but they remain elusive. I found the family in the 1901 census living in Baughton Hill, Hill Croome, Worcestershire; Charles Fuller was working as a coachman and at that time he and Mary had just the two children. I am making enquiries to see if any other children of theirs were baptised at Croome Hill. If anyone can suggest other lines of research I would be most grateful to hear from them.
