David Kings Caple as you know *IS* in Herefordshire - probably a typo somewhere down the line (most probably during recent transcription). I am interested in that village - tho' I cannot (yet) prove a 100% hard linkage, I reckon my G2 grandfather, who emigrated to Tasmania in 1823, was the son of the church warden, John Howells, there and I think the family goes back in Kings Caple another 3 generations. There is apparently also an older memorial inscription for Thomas Howels dated 1688. It's a very small parish and the records are pretty sparse. The local warden still has the original accounting records (late 1700s) and the burial register (same period). The Hereford Records Office I think has BMD microfiche that covers this period and possibly earlier.
