In the Daily Journal, Thursday April 1st 1731 On the 27th past Robert WEAVER condemned at Hereford Assizes was executed for the Robbery and Murder of Thomas MATTHEWS, Bailiff to Mr MONINGTON and afterwards hung in chains upon White Hill in the Parish of Weobley near the place where he committed the Fact, of which he made an ample Confession; declaring that it was not his Intent to murder the said MATTHEWS but Mr MONINGTON, his Master. and that he met with this untimely Fate thro' the Persuasions of one who was admitted an Evidence against him.
